Pocketed (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the website getpocketed.comand the Pocketed web application (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account information: Your email address, collected via Clerk when you sign up or sign in.
  • Income entries: Payment amounts, dates, and client or project names you enter into the app.
  • Billing information: Payment method details processed by Stripe. We never store your full card number — only the last four digits and expiry date are retained for display purposes.
  • Usage data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. This data is used for security and performance monitoring only.

2. How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS. Database backups are retained for 30 days.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management. Clerk handles sign-up, sign-in, and session cookies on our behalf. See Clerk’s Privacy Policy.
  • Supabase — database and storage. Your income data and app settings are stored in Supabase-managed infrastructure. See Supabase’s Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Stripe processes all payment transactions. We do not store your full payment card details. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Process your payments and manage your subscription
  • Send transactional emails (e.g. password reset, billing receipts)
  • Monitor and improve the performance and security of the Service
  • Respond to your support requests

5. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.

6. Cookies

We only use essential cookies. Specifically, Clerk sets a session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including income entries, client names, and account information — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: You can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You can correct inaccurate data at any time from within the app.
  • Right to erasure: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.
  • Right to data portability: You can export your income data as a CSV file from the app (Pro plan) or by contacting support.
  • Right to object: You may object to certain processing activities by contacting us.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date, and where appropriate by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
